This year, our team will be Mrs Harrison-Baines as Class Teacher and Mrs Thornton and Mrs McCullough as Teaching Assistants. Miss Fairclough will teach the class on Thursday afternoons.
This half term, our topic will be:
Sparks might fly
The topic is largely Science focused and we will be learning about electrical circuits. We will then use what we have learnt to design and make a portable light for a given audience. In History, we will be learning about how the discovery of electricity has affected our lives. We will also be learning about the invention of the light bulb.

other important information
PE is on Monday and Wednesday. Please ensure you have full PE kit in school at all times, including correct footwear. Trainers and tracksuit bottoms/leggings will be allowed for outdoor sessions only.
Brass lessons with the Lancashire Music Service will take place on Thursday afternoons. There will be a concert for parents at the end of each term to celebrate what the children have learnt. We look forward to you attending these.
Please ensure instruments are in school every week and any problems are reported to staff so they can be passed on to the Lancashire Music Service teacher.
Each half term, the children will be given a challenge sheet and we ask that children complete at least 3 pieces over the half term. Homework is then displayed outside the classroom to celebrate the hard work the children have put into it. Regular handwriting homework will also be sent home and should be completed to receive ClassDojo points as a reward.

We will aim to update our Class Story weekly and encourage parents to check in on how their child is doing throughout the week. There will be times when we use the messaging aspect of ClassDojo for communication so please look out for any messages. Feel free to send messages if you have any questions or information you would like to share about your child. We respectfully request that you allow two working days for replies and contact the school office if the message is urgent.
