I like to move it!

This half term, our class text will be 'The Highway Man'. We will also base our writing in English around the text.

In Maths, we will continue to learn about percentages and decimals in the first part of the Summer term. The children will learn how to round, convert, compare and order decimals. They will gain an understanding of percentages and how to find a percentage of a number.  In Summer 2, the children will learn about the properties of shape and position and direction. This is in addition to daily arithmetic practice and Times Tables sessions.

PLANET SOS!

Our topic work will be based around the theme, 'I Like to Move It!'

Science - exploring forces and effects on our planet.

DT - mechanics: gears and pulleys.

Geography - learning about a region in European country.

 Other Important Information

PE will be on a Monday and a Wednesday.  Please make sure that school PE kit is in school every day.  PE lessons will be outside so children may wear navy blue/grey/black leggings or jogging bottoms instead of their shorts.  It is also recommended that trainers are worn.  Please make sure that if your child wears earrings, they are capable of taking them out before the PE lesson.  If not please remove them before they come to school.

We will continue to use Class Dojo to award the children team points and to let parents know what is happening in class.  Please check regularly for messages and to keep up to date with our class story.
