Design Technology

At Ashton Primary School, we believe that a quality Design and Technology curriculum should allow children to become innovative creators. In a world where technology is constantly evolving, children need the knowledge and skills afforded through a quality DT curriculum to understand how products work and participate successfully in an increasingly technological world. Therefore, we believe it is important to develop creative, technical and imaginative thinking in children to enable them to design, create and evaluate products through an iterative approach, in which they constantly reflect on their product and adapt their design where necessary. By Upper Key Stage 2, our hope is that children have the independence and confidence to design, create and evaluate products that best fulfil tasks and challenges set by teachers or met in everyday life.
